Sorry, this is more of a ramble than a review. WHY WON'T EPISODE 3 DOWNLOAD ANY FASTER?

I'm hungry, I haven't even really gotten dressed yet, and I'm a little bit confused.
I just watched episode 10 of GBN, and I really don't know how I am feeling right now about it. I think I'm upset about it.

I'm incredibly displeased that the awkward fighting between Jan Di and Jun Pyo has disappeared, and they seem far too sure about their relationship. Whaaaaaat. This rubs me the wrong way because it takes all the charm out of it. They're still cute together, but I have to agree with a lot of other people that they are lacking a bit of chemestry that Mao and Matsujun totally had going for them in the Japanese version.
I'm trying to keep my comparisons at a distance, but this is really getting difficult for me. I know I was comparing a lot when I started watching it, but I realized that, yes, they are different series. Therefore, I am trying my hardest not to compare.

Other than that, I'm pleased that they are going into some depth with Ga Eul and Ee Jung. I still don't like his character, but he's starting to warm up to me a little. Just a little. The way it's going, it feels like these two characters might have a different ending than they have had in the previous series.
(I never wanted to beat up a character so bad by the end of the manga. Soujirou is the WORST.)
I have strong feelings on both sides. The one thing that is still at the back of my mind is "GIVE WOO BIN SOME SCREEN TIME", but maybe this is just personal bias for the character? Maybe. I really related to Akira in HYD, so I want to see something more than just one or two lines every episode.
Seriously. If they don't give this character some depth, I will be very sad.

Are you fucking serious?
I want to kill the people who made this show. They have ruined an awesome story with their incredibly shitty animation and their subpar writing. Where is the energy? Where is the humor?
I know where they are. They are lost in the fact that the backgrounds are all in 3-D while the characters live in a 2-D world. No, don't even try to somehow make it work. Let's just combine two completely different styles of animation and don't even think about making them work together.
Miyano Mamoru's voice is just too energetic for this animation. He's being all hyper, in the meantime the character he's voicing is just standing there staring at cakes. What the shit?
I'm going to at least watch until Chikage comes in, since I'm kind of stuck watching this piece of crap show only because I have so much love for the manga. I can't miss seeing my favorite character. GOD DAMN IT.

The only thing I am really liking about this show so far is the opening. I really like it. The ending is alright, but the opening is pretty good.

About the second episode's writing and characters:
Episode two is the story about the boxer. While I understand that is is really really difficult to capture the original spice behind Yoshinaga-sensei's writing, this is just atrocious. They took out every part that made me laugh and turned it into a humdrum bore-fest. I kept checking the controls just to see how much longer I would have to sit through it.

I suppose they have Ono's character down correctly (for now). Tachibana is different than I expected him to be, and so far Eiji is just too freaking energetic for my tastes. Can't he calm down for a minute? The director needs to be drawn and quartered. I am really scared of how spazzy they are going to make Chikage.

Oh, Yoshinaga-sensei, how do you feel about this? Oh, god. If these people ever got a hold of Gerard et Jacques, I'd cry.

Also, lol this is the first anime I've watched in a couple months. I was watching Junjou Romantica, but then they finally got to my favorite chapter and I stopped, since there was nothing for me to look forward to.

tl;dr version:
I am a manga junkie who really hates bad anime adaptations. Especially this one.

I am going through this journal and removing any unwanted SHUT THE FUCK UP NEI FROM TWO YEARS AGO shit. Was I really that fangirlish and crazy? Seriously? I'm leaving a few of those things up, but everything is going to be going behind cuts. I just don't want to look at it.

While manga that progresses over the entire lifetime of the characters is bittersweet and typically rather good, I find myself sincerely depressed over it.

I don't know how many of you saw the wreck that was me after reading New York, New York. If you didn't, let me tell you that it wasn't pretty. I cried for 24 hours straight after reading that story. For about a year after that, if it was even mentioned I would want to start crying. Why? BECAUSE OF THE LAST CHAPTER HOLY SHIT. I almost wish I had stopped at the chapter before the last one.
It really was life changing, and I'm glad it got me used to reading stories like it. I just read a more up-beat manga in which basically 1 chapter=1 or more years of the lives of the characters. It begins when they are 11 and ends at 50. There are a couple chapters about their kid, and even then it progresses and makes comments about the age of the main two. It almost makes me want to write something like it. Unfortunately, I thought it lacked what it takes to get me really into it. While it was intriguing, and I did want to yell at them once in a while, it just lacked...Spark?
New York, New York is one of those manga that you can feel the spark. It is almost like you really know the characters, and you really care about them. You laugh with them, you cry with them, and you want to fight with them.
Complex touched on some things, but then abandoned them half way through. I wasn't happy about that. Also, the art really wasn't that well refined, and not really knowing what exactly a character's defining feature is was a little unnerving. Also, I didn't feel the right chemistry between the two most of the time. It was like blah whatever I don't care most of the time. Personally, I think the story of the son and his friend should have been more developed, as it gets rather fuzzy toward the end and is just kind of left hanging. I'd like to think that the two end up together, and I guess it kind of hints to it...? But who knows.
All in all, it was a decent read and I'm glad I read it. I just wish it had been better.
But then again I'm comparing it to New York, New York. I probably should not do that.

What does this mean?

It is more pleasant to watch men who have been shot in the face scream at cops and have to be knocked out than it is to watched DUB Yami no Matsuei.
It is less urking to watch a woman who has broken her back and ancles scream and cry about her missing baby than it is to watch DUB Yami no Matsuei.
And finally.
Watching a man's stomach be opened with a knife and have his exploded and bleeding intestines out for the world to see makes me want to throw up less than when I watch DUB Yami no Matsuei.
